Scott joined the family business in 1982 when he was eleven, working after school and during the summer. He became CEO in 2002 following the death of Nesbitt Cline, Sr., his grandfather and the founder of the company. Scott’s personal mission is “to honor and glorify God to the fullest in all aspects of life, including family, friends, church and work.”
As CEO, he oversees all areas of the business and is responsible for Cline’s vision, mission and growth strategies. He has transformed Cline with a commitment to best practices and a strong management team of experienced professionals. In addition to taking a personal interest in the development of all Cline associates, he also volunteers in his church and the community, and supports other local entrepreneurs with encouragement, counsel and financial investments.
Scott is a graduate of Anderson University and has a BS in Business Administration.
Glenn started working at the family business in the mid-to-late 80s (he’s a little fuzzy on the exact date). A graduate of Greenville High and Clemson University, Glenn runs Cline’s counter sales operations, overseeing the growth of our retail operations. N.Q. Cline Sr., Glenn’s grandfather, taught him a simple lesson (“Earn the customer’s faith first and the business will follow”) and he sees the value of that insight on a daily basis.
Joe joined Cline as our Chief Operating Officer in 2014. His career experience includes division and general management responsibilities with Volvo Construction Equipment and FABCO Equipment, a leading CAT equipment dealer and distributor.
As COO, he works with Scott and Glenn Cline on strategy and planning, and oversees the company’s sales, service and repairs. Joe makes sure that the company makes steady progress toward its long-range goals, while keeping a tight grip on day-to-day metrics — customer satisfaction, lead times and on-time delivery.
A graduate of Miami University with a BA in Economics, Joe is a baseball fan and stats fiend. He reads and listens to music, has been happily married to his wife Tracy for 20 years, and has six children.
Chris joined Cline in 1988 as a hose shop technician. He was promoted to hose shop foreman and then moved into Counter Sales, where he became Counter Sales Manager. He subsequently moved into Inside Sales. Following stints as Inside Sales Supervisor and Sales Manager, he now manages all Cline inside sales and service.
Dave joined Cline in 2003, coming to us from Wal-Mart, where he worked as a shipping manager in a distribution center in Petersburg, VA. He spent 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he started his career as an avionics technician. He moved on to become a manager of specialist technicians, a production supervisor of 22 squadron aircraft and manager of three avionics repair shops.
He manages the company’s hose and metal hose repair shops, we well as shipping and receiving operations. Dave has a BS from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Lee joined Cline in 2001 as an account manager for several major accounts. As Sales Manager, he is responsible for our sales team, developing new accounts and contract negotiations. Lee is also chairman of the company’s care committee, where Cline gives back to local charities and community organizations.
His career experience includes service center management and contract negotiations for major accounts with Applied Industrial Technologies, as well as shipping/receiving supervision with John D. Hollingsworth on Wheels, Inc.
When not working, Lee spends time with his wife and two sons, watches college football and fishes in local bass tournaments.
